Level 2 Chimney Inspection

Putting in an offer? Call us first!
Did you know the NFPA (National Fire Protection Agency) 211 standard requires a Level 2 inspection upon the sale or transfer of a property? You do now!

What is a level 2 inspection? A level 2 inspection includes a visual inspection of all accessible areas of the chimney, as well as, a camera scan of the interior of the flue. In addition to a detailed written report, you will receive photos documenting the chimney system every step of the way. We can also provide you with a quote for repairs, if needed, which you can use while bargaining on a sale price. Repairs can be costly, which is why getting a CSIA certified chimney tech over to the home to perform a Level 2 Real Estate inspection prior to the purchase and sale, is always a good idea.

In this photo you can see a missing mortar joint between the two clay tiles. This gap can allow flue gasses, smoke, or sparks to transfer to another area of the home. This never would have been caught if it wasn't for the level 2 camera inspection!
