Enervex Fans

An Enervex fan is a fan that is installed on the top of your chimney, much like a rain cap is. It is generally used if the home/building has drafting problems.
A home/building built in the early to mid 1900s is significantly different than a home/building built in the late 1970s to present.
Why?
Newer homes tend to be built with a considerable amount of insulation to keep the heat in the home during the cold months.
While that is a good thing, the down side is the effect on draft when you try to light a fire in your fireplace. Even if you prime your flue properly and crack a window in the room, the home/building may have significant negative down draft issues.
If that is the case an Enervex Fan could be the way to go! The fan creates a positive draft for you, pulling not only the smoke up and out but taking the odor with it too!
An electrician is required for complete hook-up of the fan. Don’t have an electrician? No worries, we have a list of referrals that we would be more than happy to give you.  At this point you may be asking yourself, “This sounds great, however, will it need to be removed and rewired every time I do my annual inspection/cleaning?” Nope! The top of the fan has hinges which allows our technicians to easily access the flue without removing the fan.
Haven’t you always wanted to use that fireplace in your dining room but whenever you tried, smoke filled the house leaving you gasping for air. Call Boston Best Chimney today for an evaluation to see if an Enervex Fan is for you!
