Here at Boston Best Chimney we do our inspections in accordance with the National Fire Protection Agency.
Usually a level 1 is all you need, but there are circumstances that would call for a more in depth chimney inspection. Here’s the breakdown;
Level 1 – a visual inspection of all readily accessible areas of the chimney for continued service. This is done before any routine sweeping and upon replacement of a connected appliance of similar type.
Level 2 – a visual inspection of all accessible areas of the chimney, as well as, a camera scan of the interior of the flue. This is done during a sale or transfer of a property, during the addition or removal of a connected appliance of dissimilar type, or during an operating malfunction. In addition to the written report, you will receive a DVD of the recording. Makes a great addition to your home movie collection!
