Deterioration of brick and mortar is inevitable, even when it’s indoor, like at the base of the chimney.
You know what I’m talking about.
A few chips fall off here and a few chips there.  Maybe there is even some moderate crumbling in one area but you try not to look at it because if you don’t, it’s out of sight out of mind.  Perhaps the base of the chimney is tucked away in the corner of the basement hiding behind that old box of high school trophies you can’t seem to get rid of.  Well, next time you’re down there, you may want to take a peek!

F.S.B. – Fiberglass Surface Bonding cement can be applied over the existing brick and mortar.  F.S.B. contains fibers, that when dries, creates a stronger and more stable chimney base.
