Holy Creosote!

Last week we were called out to one of our long time, heavy burning, clients for annual maintenance.
When we go there we found a very heavy coating of creosote in the flue and on the mechanical fan.
 
People always ask us how frequently they should have their chimney swept and that’s not an easy question to answer over the phone.
It varies on how you burn and what you burn. 
Annual inspections are recommended by the Chimney Safety Institute of America, but for some, that’s not enough.
These folks are now on a semi-annual inspection and sweeping schedule.
